Usually tenancy agreements have rules forbidding any sorts of business to be done within the premises of the rented property during tenancy, and the property must be mainly used for residential purposes just by living and not officiating any business. Nowadays a “work from home” tactics is one way to earn money with the convenience of working from home. Residential property is only considered to be used for “non-residential purposes” if you are stocking company products and if you have registered the rented property as a business address and if there is a multi-person workforce running along the premises of the property. For instance, if the property is used as “rooms for rent” and child minding then the property is considered as running a business and will not be allowed.
Residential properties are different form commercial properties since they have different terms and conditions. However, if you continued doing business without the consent of your landlord then you might be at risk and may be charged with fines.
