Here are some useful tips for occupants who would like to remodel their rented home, but are quite hesitant to bring up the subject with their landlords out of fear of rejection.

For some tenants, the feeling of not being permitted to revamp their rented home is a pretty common concern, especially once you have been living in that property for quite a while.

However, a lot of tenants are not aware that landlords are often keen to pay for minor renovations, like re-painting the walls, for instance.

Long-term lease is increasing in popularity as both landlords and their tenants have the security of a longer agreement and reduced fees for agencies.

Occupants can use this trend to their benefit and can be amazed at how willing many landlords could be to this certain request.

Also, if you have been a good tenant for a remarkable length of time, in that case, landlords won’t have any problems with placing some cash towards decorating fees if you present to do the task yourself.

Small re-touches that are enough to make you feel comfortable in your home are quite suitable, but requesting for major renovation is highly unlikely for it could really cost the landlord a lot of time and money.

With many occupants being newly graduates, they have often collected some of their own furniture which they would prefer to use in their property than the second hand furnishings provided by their landlords.

It’s a good initiative to present this matter before you move into a property. Lastly, be sure that the landlord has given already you their consent before getting rid of any unnecessary furniture inside the house.
